JULIE SHARP
Julie was first called to the bar in 1999 and is an experienced advocate. She returns to the bar having served in the role of Deputy President, Parole Board Queensland for a number of years. Prior to her appointment, Julie was in private practice at the bar, a member of the Bar Council Criminal Law Committee and invited member of the Court of Appeal pro-bono panel.
Julie started her career at Legal Aid Queensland in 1997 and has held roles as Counsel Assisting the State Coroner and In-House Counsel, Industrial Relations and Personnel for a large meat manufacturing company.
In the criminal law jurisdiction, Julie has appeared in matters at all levels including the Supreme Court, Court of Appeal and the High Court of Australia. She has been appointed counsel assisting in a number of Commissions of Inquiry.
Julie has also appeared in various tribunals, commissions and the Industrial Court of Queensland, Federal Court and Family Court of Australia.
