NATHAN EDRIDGE

Nathan was called to the Bar in 2017 and specialises in criminal law matters in Queensland and New South Wales.

He also accepts briefs in administrative law, regulatory matters, domestic violence hearings and inquests/inquiries.

Earlier, Nathan was Associate to Her Honour Judge Sarah Bradley AO and worked as a solicitor and barrister at Legal Aid Queensland.

Nathan has a strong record in trials and appeals across all jurisdictions in Queensland and NSW.

He was lead counsel in R v Eatts [2025] QCA 175, resulting in manslaughter convictions being quashed by the Court of Appeal. Nathan has appeared as junior counsel in the High Court of Australia: Huxley v The Queen (2023) 416 ALR 359.

He has appeared in several successful appeals and reviews, including:

·      R v Thrupp [2024] QCA 134 – convictions for murder quashed;

·      Sran v Minister for Immigration [2022] FCA 377 – judicial review granted;

·      R v Enright [2020] QCA 6 – conviction for threatening a judicial officer quashed;

·      R v Cooney [2019] QCA 166 – appeal against sentence allowed;

·      R v MDD [2019] QCA 197 – appeal against sentence allowed; and

·      R v GBF [2019] QCA 4 – appeal against sentence allowed.

Nathan is a member of the Bar of Queensland and New South Wales.

He is appointed to the Legal Aid Queensland Complex Criminal Case Panel.
