She has acted for various departments during her employment with the Queensland government in a diverse range of prosecutions, including for planning offences, environmental offences, and work health and safety matters. She has experience in all aspects of these matters from legal advice to investigators and internal departmental clients, to preparing for and appearing in interlocutory applications, trials, sentences, and appeals. Natalie has appeared regularly as Counsel for the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries and Department of Natural Resources, Mines and Energy. She also has experience working as part of a team for some of the most complex prosecutions conducted by the State. Natalie's experience in coronial inquests includes matters involving the deaths of workers killed at workplaces, fatigue management, persons lost at sea, and misadventure at national parks. She also has experience in inquiries, recently acting for the mining safety regulator at the Coal Mining Board of Inquiry. She enjoys coronial and inquiry work, particularly where the State has multiple agencies involved that are providing a multi-faceted, whole-of-government response. Through her time as a government lawyer, Natalie acted for the State in reviews of administrative decisions, including about the classification of vegetation, cancellation of authorities and certificates of competency, and reviews of directives issued by the safety regulator. In 2022, she joined the Director of Public Prosecutions (Commonwealth) where she prosecuted commercial and serious financial crime, child exploitation and the illegal importation of border controlled drugs. She has experience in domestic and foreign child exploitation offending, cross border drug related offences and money laundering.  Grace holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Queensland.       <image:caption>Nathan was called to the Bar in 2017 and specialises in criminal law matters in Queensland and New South Wales. He also accepts briefs in administrative law, regulatory matters, domestic violence hearings and inquests/inquiries. Earlier, Nathan was Associate to Her Honour Judge Sarah Bradley AO and worked as a solicitor and barrister at Legal Aid Queensland. Nathan has a strong record in trials and appeals across all jurisdictions in Queensland and NSW. He was lead counsel in R v Eatts [2025] QCA 175, resulting in manslaughter convictions being quashed by the Court of Appeal. Nathan has appeared as junior counsel in the High Court of Australia: Huxley v The Queen (2023) 416 ALR 359. He has appeared in several successful appeals and reviews, including: ·      R v Thrupp [2024] QCA 134 – convictions for murder quashed; ·      Sran v Minister for Immigration [2022] FCA 377 – judicial review granted; ·      R v Enright [2020] QCA 6 – conviction for threatening a judicial officer quashed; ·      R v Cooney [2019] QCA 166 – appeal against sentence allowed; ·      R v MDD [2019] QCA 197 – appeal against sentence allowed; and ·      R v GBF [2019] QCA 4 – appeal against sentence allowed. Nathan is a member of the Bar of Queensland and New South Wales. He is appointed to the Legal Aid Queensland Complex Criminal Case Panel.
